What was Georges main amp in the early days? Should I perhaps go for an Orange AD30 to achieve this also? Or a Vox AC15 re-issue? Thanks.

This would depend on what you mean by the early days. By August 1962 George could be seen in photos using a Vox AC-30 as his main amplifier.

If you are interested in George's amplifier in the very early Liverpool and Hamburg days he had a Gibson, the model of which I am unsure.

No, no. It was the AC-30 then. Thanks! I may get an AC15 as you need high volumes to be able to get that VOx sound from an AC30. Thanks again!

listen to the man....George used a Gibson he got it in Hamburg, the same time John purchased his Rick 325 in 1960 and John used a tweed Fender at the time I think it was a Pro...the Beatles didnt get the Vox stuff till Epstein made a deal with Vox for the AC-30s and pauls t-60....
I use a laney vc-30 that is close...
but its no vox ac-30...
so dont kid yourself....if you want the sound get a vox ac-30, I had a Vox ac-15 but the overdrive really didnt sound that good to me...thats why I got this amp....
but I had a marshall made vox ac-30 reissue and it was real close to the old ac-30s Ive had....
I shouldnt have sold it....oh well...
