Keep them in the case. You may want them back some day.

Although I'd love to buy them, I'd seriously suggest keeping them so that if at any time in the future you change your mind you can restore the c64 to it's original condition.

Keep them. One day you'll regret selling them.

I took mine off of my V63, but If I ever sell it, they will be going back on. I say keep them for sure.

Better yet, keep them fitted to the c64 just as they were meant to !!

Keep them. Sell 'em with the bass.

..if that day ever comes. Or at least keep them until they're worth enough to pay off your house.

I've always kept the covers and shoes on my Rics. Only sad over all the poor shoes that get stripped off of working pickups.

As for playability, I've never understood why the 1/2 inch or so either side of the supposed sweet spot under the shoe is such an issue, for me the sweet spot is just in front of the cover or shoe.

Functionally (for me) the shoe or cover is the ideal place to rest your palm as you pick or to rest your thumb on to play with fingers.

This is exactly how I feel about them too. Not to mention they just look cool! Image

The shoes didn't seem to slow McCartney or Squire down any. ;)

Late to the party, but if you don't sell them to me keep them! :D You would always regret letting them go. ;)

It will be next to impossible to buy them again if you do sell, unless RIC offers them in their boutique once the HS's are offered for sale, so I'd think it's best to keep 'em so that bass will retain it's full value.
You'll probably never sell the bass judging from your previous posts, but you'll most likely regret selling the shoes.

I meant that it sounds like you have no intention of ever selling due to the glowing praise you've posted for that fine instrument.
Sorry for my mis-communication!

Oh yeah! Image
I read that thread on the RIC forum & totally understand.
It sounds like it's your dream bass, perfectly suited to your playing, everything you expected from a Rick.
There's no need to feel self conscious about that, that's why we're all here.
You're quite lucky in that respect. Some guys go on searching for that perfect instrument for years.
