These bits...

"Check out the oval neck plate on the rear of the guitar, it really sets it apart from the new Fenders." ??? Oh you mean it wobbles about!

"neck is straight and true (I've just had it set up again by a guitar tech)" AGAIN? See above.

"I've had it valued at between £1250 and £1400." Who by? Your mum?

Oops, I just noticed, he lives quite near me, I'd better shut up!

Well, at least it's cheaper than an artificially aged one... and is aged naturally. Image

Seeing as how it's a lefty, it's probably worth what he thinks it is. Image

Judging from the pics, it appears to be a fairly nice guitar. You gonna grab that one Peter?

Not that long ago you couldn't give away 70's Strats. The collectable level keeps changing as 1)a hot artist stars using a particular piece of gear (Les Pauls went through the roof after GnR's) 2)collectors get priced out of a given market but there is still demand. An example of this is how Fender tweed amps were hot..went through the roof...so the Blackface models went up next now it's the silverface models
that are going up fast. Get em while ya can!
