I'm not familiar with this pop combo, but going by this video clip, I'm pretty sure they have a future.

This is actually the promotional video for Lady Madonna, with Hey Bulldog superimposed on the audio track. It works, because the band were actually recording Hey Bulldog while they were shooting the Lady Madonna video! One of the fab four -- Ringo perhaps? -- was said to have commented at the time, "Oh, it's okay... no one will notice." For the most part, he was right!

It's got some great studio shots of the band.

I love that video - One of my fav Beatle songs too - Makes me drive REALLY fast. Anyone ever hear Toad the Wet Sprocket's version? Kicks serious Bullfrog....

Didn't I read somewhere that the recording of of Hey Bulldog was the first time Yoko came to the studio?

Regardless, I've always loved the song and it's too bad more people don't know it--I think it would have done well as a single.

I've got a copy of The Gods cover of 'Hey Bulldog' released as a single in 1969.

Yoko came at the beginning of the White Album sessions, the first one being 30 May 1968 as they began the first version of "Revolution". This was their first recording session after the India trip, but "Hey Bulldog" was recorded back in March when Cynthia was still in the picture...

love that riff, one of the best riffs they came up with and boy just hear Macca wailing away on his ricky.

Fanny also did a great cover of Hey Bulldog.

During Yoko's first visit to Abbey Road, The group was working on "Revolution #1", parts of which eventually became "Revolution #9".
The experience was documented on a cassette recorder which she had along, which runs about 75 minutes in length. She was in the control room and was basically whispering a narration - you can hear the recording and playbacks along with her non-stop commentary. The topics range from interesting to mortifying (for John and Yoko). It was released on CD by the now defunct Vigotone Label, aptly titled "Revolution".

This is one of the few - if not the only - times ( not counting "Let It Be") that The Beatles were ever filmed while recording in such detail.
Also note at 2:07 and 2:11 that John is playing the gibson - perhaps he plays the solo...
George was a great riff guy and I'm pretty sure he plays the riff, but if you listen to the solo it kinda sounds like Lennons style.

Yeah, agree about the solo. Paul's style is more "crisp" and quick. I think Geoff Emerick noted it was a very happy session.
