They're not keen on players changing guitars too often on stage, Greg. I reckon two (a 6 and a 12) will be as much as they (and I) can handle!

The jam session happened today and it was great! Interesting that they started with 'who wants to sing?'....... and filled in the gaps from there.

I put my hand up for a couple of CCR songs but insisted that they include me in 'I Saw Her Standing There'.

That's when I pulled out the Monty 350v63..... Many comments made but the most common was 'what the #!&# is that?????' (Fender and Gibson freaks just don't understand, do they?)

When they heard it, they knew!!

The gig is on March 17th..... lots to do in the meantime but can't wait..... it will be an absolute hoot!!! Image

You know, that's rather the reaction I expect I'll get the first time I pull out my future RIC.

This Weekend Warriors sure sounds like a lot of fun, Aitch.

You ought to shock those folks and bring one of your different Ricks each time, to the jams over the ensuing weeks. Its obvious that the local Gibson/Fender enthusiasts have a lot to learn about the history, exclusiveness and wonderful tonal qualities of Rickenbackers.

Cheers - Rich F.

Hi Rich.

As far as I know the WW program operates in US in a few locations. It's promoted by music stores (not surprisingly) and I believe there's one in Sacramento CA that's involved. Strictly for non-pros, however.

The guy running the show on Sunday certainly knew about Ricks and commented that the smaller bodied ones were his preference - especially the 320/325/350 series. I have a few more smaller bodies ones in the cresting wave style, so I might just do that! Image

A lot depends on the 5 or 6 songs the band members agree on as what might be appropriate. That process begins Tuesday 13th.
