Melissa, I've made the ol' 72 "Mink" my main player, and gigged with it the last two times. I have TI Jazz Flats on it, a lot easier on my pinkies than the typical rounds. I've been tinkering with the sound, adding a Line 6 Bass Pod with compression, and it really is getting the sound I want with a stiff "pointy" pick. Lotsa snap, sufficient growl (but not like rounds), plenty of bottom and smooth tone. Now if I can just convince my drummer . . . .
