Scored a Cheyenne I

A big public "thank you, sir" to member Dave Westheimer for selling me his Cheyenne I. I just got it about an hour ago, and though I'm at the office, I pulled it out of the shipping case and started playing right away. Love it already. Now I can die happy. Well, not NOW, please.

Now I have two Ricks and one Hofner. I better stop, but a five-string would be nice. Hmmm . . . .

Congrats Paul, welcome to the Cheyenne owners club.

I'm thinking you need that five-string.... and very badly too.

Well there is that one minor detail. I've pretty much given up hope on the 4004C-ii/5, or whatever the announced model number was, being available any time in the near future and am spending my money elsewhere.

Paul-- Congrats on the Cheyenne I; it is a *very* nice bass. And shame on Dave Westheimer for letting it go! :-)

Jeffery, at least it's staying here in our online family. Image But no matter how hard you beg, I won't sell you my Desert Gold 4003. Image

Congratulations Paul and Dave!

Nice to see "family members" taking care of each other.

That cheyenne can be easily converted to a 5 string ....

Yeah, but then the headstock looks wrong, and the spacing is still tight comparitively speaking for five strings. (No offense.)

I have to agree Brad, the string spacing is just too tight for me. I play a Modulus Q5 when I need the added depth a 5 string provides, which anymore is very often since I'm working on a prog rock project now.

Jeff's conversions look first rate however.

Of course, I could just get a B string, toss the G and move the others over. It would be a four string, but it would have the extra low B. Hmm . . . but then I wouldn't be able to do that little flurry of high Bs in "Roundabout". But then I probably wouldn't be able to find people crazy enough to perform "Roundabout" anyway.

I am used to 4003s5 and everything else seems too wide ...
