Just noticed the year turn over to "7 years of all things Rickenbacker" Happy Anniversary Pete, and thanks for all the hard work, even if it doesn't feel like it most of the time!

Thanks Jason. The idea of a Rickenbacker Forum began in 1997 with alt.guitar.rickenbacker. Have a visit sometime and you will see why I moved on. I then moved on to small temporary forums before I decided on this format.

This forum has moved on three occasions and I have held my breath each time. In the end, however, I have accomplished what I set out to do with the RickResource Forum and continue to enjoy it immensely. Thanks goes out to all participants and especially to John Hall and RIC.

I've always found alt.guitar.rickenbacker to be a delightful place to visit. It gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling inside. The participants there are very gracious, knowledgeable, and fair, as opposed to the trolls who infest this forum daily.

JUST KIDDING. This place is like family !

Peter: Did I read somewhere that you started alt.guitar.rickenbacker? I posted there for a while back in the late 90's but lost interest. As I recall, Roger McGuinn used to visit the group now and then. It was always fun to read his posts.

Wasn't the previous rickresource home a university network?

Peter,
I'm quite new to the Forum, but have been playing Ric basses since 1968. I used to believe I knew quite a bit about Rics... but have had quite an education here since becoming a member.
I've learned so much, and continue to do so daily.
All the members I've exchanged emails or posts with, have been great people to deal with.
Your contribution is applauded, sir!
All the best in '07!
Cheers
Sean

Let's hope and pray that we have this forum for many years to come. Thanks Peter, I am not a joiner and that speaks volumes for this place as far as I am concerned.

7 years. Cool. Speaking for myself, i can say it's the first online community i've spent more than half a year in, and found mates and even friends here. This place is really addictive, not to mention it gives an important opportunity to practice my English. Image
All the best in new year & here's to many more years!

Thanks Peter.... I LOVE this place--it's my number one stop on the internet, and the only one I visit multiple times a day! I am thankful for this site, and for all of the wonderful friends I have had the opportunity to meet because of it. Image

Peter, what can I say--

Your efforts have made the world smaller for many of us. Without the Forum, many lasting friendships that have been formed wouldn't exist today. It's all really great, many thanks.

Here here! I'll join in this lovefest. Outside of being both a gentleman and a scholar, for real mind you, Peter has provided me with hours of useful information, culture, and brushes with fame. Interested in Beatles? Peter hooks you up with Geoff Hogarth who used to book them as lads, even asked Brian Epstein to leave once! Or perhaps you have questions about early rock in swinging 60's UK? Roy Clough sends incredibly rare recordings directly to your iTunes. Sergio Silva is sending me a pickup for my 1972 4001 bass which promises to be so hot that Nancy Pelosi will probably pass legislation against it, as it will simply contribute to global warming. Ted and Paul and Dale seem to know a thing or two about building and rebuilding Rickenbackers...ah, but anyone can do that, right? Oh yes, for sure. Listen, not only do you get to look at their exquisite craftsmanship in progress, but they take the time to educate us and dispense advice on a daily basis! And finally, a community of people so focused on civility and fair internet behavior, that even if you wanted to get offended and leave, well, they just won't let you.

Peter, from a newer member who just can't keep away and who has found great riches in this site, Thank You. This is a creation to be proud of, and a lovely contribution to the world.
