A local store has a Galveston "Rickenbacker-style" 330-12 knock-off in their store. Are there any legal issues with selling these in a retail store? The guy was a jerk when I started asking questions and would I love to cause him some grief.

Thoughts?

Report it to Rickenbacker.

No different than selling fakes anywhere else, I'd imagine.

Sent email to RIC. I'll check back in the store Friday. Bastards....

Most stores probably don't look at a Rick copy as any different than the countless Les Paul and Strat copies out there. Chances are, the guy you talked to in the store probably had no idea how protective Rickebacker is of their designs and how aggressively they go after copies of their instruments. To him, it was probably just another guitar in the store.

Bob - is this store an authorized RIC dealer? I was wondering the same thing when I spotted a 'faker at my old local (authorized) dealer. You'd think they of all people would know better.
