We have been getting S#!& hammered by spammers using the Road Runner network lately. Several RR mail servers have been listed by the major DNS RBLs as a result. Anyway, I'll send you another email address to use.

So, Ted, why not use the mail server "mail.tedstaberow.com" that I just discovered was created just for you, free of charge, by some mostly-hairless old guy who happens to own a nationwide ISP, along with a slew of Rickenbackers? He also created "mail.staberow.com" if you don't want to type so much. You can create any email address you want, anytime, through a web-based online control interface - like <[email protected]> for example Image

No more problems with RoadRuiner email, and it is guaranteed to work with your RoadRuiner cable Internet, regardless of what anyone at RoadRuiner may say. So, why keep advertising RoadRunner with every email you send. Do they pay you to market for them? NO! Instead, market your self with every email you send!!

That guy also created one for dalefortune.com and for janglejingle.com too, but don't tell either of them - let it be a surprise!! Image

I am a system administrator and I normally use the mail server where I work. I do that so I constantly know if it is up and running. I am not married to the idea and have recently acquired a gmail account. So Skycomm belongs to you?

Well, as long as they get the right info in the first place. Image Were you serious about the domain names?

Well, Paul, all the good forms of jinglejangle, such as jinglejangle.com, have been registered by others for years now and are unavailable right now. So have all the good forms of your last name or first and last name. Well, maybe if we added your middle initial.

And, I saw the string janglejingle used by you in a thread here on the Forum that I read today, so....

OK, what WOULD you prefer to have, then, if you could have what you prefer for a web site and an email address suffix that no one has taken yet???? Image

Yes, Ted! It will be a server on a dedicated OC-12 segment, broken down to no less than 30 Mb/s incoming bandwidth in front of the server, with decent anti-spam and anti-virus, SMTP-Auth only on the outbound, and Port 587 SMTP listener so that you never have to use Port 25 Image

Oh, and a website and FTP too Image Image

Of course you'll have your own dedicated unique IP address, none of the sharing **** that can inadvertently get you into an RBL.

So now I can get rid of the GoDaddy junk. huh?

When you get time, fill me in on the details, off-list. I'm not as geeky as Ted. (Sorry, Ted, U said it 1st).
