I think he was replaced by the singer from Paul Revere and The Raiders.

It was a double switch. Just listen to the percussive bass tones on the later Raiders albums. That was not Phil Volk, I'm telling you...
And did you ever notice how Paul McCartney and Mark Lindsay are never seen in the same room at the same time? And to think they got away with it for all those years...

You're right, it wasn't "Fang" on the later albums, he left the Raiders in 1967.
He has a pretty cool website, you can see his Hofner Club Bass in a number of the Raiders section pics.

But as long as we're on conspiracies here, a friend of mine insists that Suzi Quatro and Rick Derringer are one and the same.

Well, at least they may have had the same hairstylist.

Didn“t Fang use a Vox bass at one time? Maybe a Teardrop?

Look at Fang's website I linked to above, lots of pics there. Looks like he's still using the Vox Phantom and/or a Phantom copy. But back then he was most often seen with the Hofner.

As for the link in the initial post of this thread........... Whoever that uberkinder guy is, he has *FAR* too much time on his hands. Probably related to that old psycho political hack Lyndon LaRouche.

I remember that shot off him with Fang on the back of his bass. One of those shots looks like a Vox with a Fender neck.

That bass, the vox with FANG spelled out on the back in black tape, is on display at the EMP (Experience Music Project) in Seattle. The bass has a P-bass neck on it.
