Rics on wireless

I know it is a stretch but I am not sure where to ask this one. I tried an old wireless system with my bass last Sunday, and I didn't like it all. It is a vhf system, so maybe the newer uhf systems do better.

Here is the issue, there seemed to be a "slight" (milliseconds) delay between when I strike the string and when the sound comes out the speaker. I suppose one could get used to it, but maybe the newer ones aren't as "slow"?

I use a Shure ULXP4. There is no delay that I can perceive. I also notice no difference in my sound between a cord and my wireless. Some units killed sustain and sucked the low end from my tone.

When I was shopping for a wireless I found that you certainly get what you pay for. The cheaper units I tried made me want to stick with a cord.

Don't buy it based solely on my account but certainly check it out and let me know what you think.

I can usually get about 8 hrs. from a battery so keep that in mind as well (don't use rechargeables).

We have the same system as you for our Lavallier and it blows away our old Shure system. Besides, if it doesn't work,I need someone to blame!

I use Samson wireless and no problems here. It is kind of cool when I can plug it to my SVT in the den and play in the back yard hearing myself very well Image

Shure systems are very reliable. Also I use the Airline bug unit, mor $ but flawless.

I'm using a Sennheiser EW 172 system and it seems as good a quality cable.

Sennheiser both ways. Because of PA limitations I send the signal back out of the amp to an in-ear monitor (actually half a Sony earclip headphone set).

I have used a NADY 201 True Diversity VHF system since 1989. I have used this unit all over the country with no problems anywhere. There is also no difference in the sound between it and a cord ( I don't use it in rehearsals so I know it sounds the same as a cord). It's great system.

I've been using an AKG-SR/40 for about a year now with no problems at all. No delay, no difference in sound. I love it! Paid about $250 for it online.
