Clasical Mystery Tour

Last night I went to see my first Beatles tribute band at the American Music Theater in Lancaster, Pa. I missed the first half of the show, because of the freakin hour wait for a table at Texas Roadhouse, and that was the half I wanted to see the most. Image

Anyway, the band was good and better than I expected. Paul was pretty much a dead ringer in vocals, and looks from a distance. John was very good too, and the vocals where amazing.

I came in at the start of the Sgt. Pepper era, and their costumes where pretty cool. I was a little disappointed in the instruments they had on hand. No RICS!
George played a Fender Tele, and Gretsch. John only had a Casino on hand, and Paul had the Hofner. The Fender and Casino where OK for the later years, but I thought I would see Paul playing a RIC for the Sgt. Pepper stuff.

Over all pretty good show. They sounded great, and the costume changes were cool.
Sorry I missed the early Beatle stuff, but the band did a couple of encores with some early Beatles tunes, and they where dead on.

Now I need to get out and see some more Beatles tribute bands. Fun stuff! Image

If you get a chance to see the Return, they are really good. They tour all over the country, so keep an eye out for them.

I caught this show in Pittsburgh two or three years ago. From the standpoint of using the orchestra, the early stuff was not critical to see. Of course it was used on Yesterday, Eleanor Rigby, Got to You Into My Life and, I think, For No One. No Rics on that show, either. I thought "John" was uncanny, right down to the walk.
