Geoff: This is great news that the Iron Door Club is on the tour.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Alisha I do hope you have a marvellous time in Liverpool in May.
If you are interested in the beat groups who played alongside the Beatles in the 60s, some of them play on a regular basis at the Cavern most Sunday nights.
The "Sound of the Sixties" are the organisers of this event, just walk down the long flight of stairs, they charge £1 admission. The sounds begin about eight-o-clock.
There are two parts to the Cavern, the front part is the replica of the original Cavern, minus the smells, this is the area where the "Sound of the Sixties" operate.
During the month of May none of the old time groups are booked, however since reading your posting on the forum, if I know the date you are visiting, there is a possibility to arrange a meeting with some of the groups from the 60s.

You mentioned the Musical Tour,it appears to be
establishing itself as a popular attraction. The plaque which was unveiled in Temple Street on the site of the Iron Door on April 9th 2005.
is becoming a talking point, most visitors are surprised to read that the Beatles (Silver Beetles) were promoted there as early as May 15th 1960.
Liverpool City Centre at the moment resembles a large building site,a large part of the city is being demolished and re-built with department stores, hotels, bars etc.The plan is to finish this work in time for the Capital of Culture celebrations in 2008.
