I just saw this in eBay before coming to the forum. When I saw the thread title I knew what it was going to be about!

That's actually something I thought about doing way back in the day when my '77 started suffering from the dreaded "lift".
Lucky for me that I just didn't have the technical skills to have even ATTEMPTED to pull that off.
Looks like this guy did a pretty good job! Even made a nice "V" pattern for the strings to pass through.
I just hope there's string-anchoring grommets in the back of that bass!

Hmmm ... that is a good price on a 4003s5 ... I should buy it and restore it with some of my spare parts ...

The idea isn't that bad, but the execution... yech!

Sports Reporter: "Coach McKay, how do you about the execution of your offense?"
John McKay, TB Bucs Coach from looooong ago: "I'm all for it."

You can use the bass for religious purposes as it is rather holey(holy?)

I accually think the idea is pretty good, but the string angle seems a bit to steep.
