No Horseshoe Bridge Pickup...is this a 4001V63 or could this be a 4003S? Your assistance is appreciated. Pulled the trigger but did not look at the bridge pickup real close until later. Thank you for your help.

That would appear to be a 4003S manufactured in June of '91.

Good for you for "pulling the trigger" on that nice BIN price!

Great deal Karl, is it your first Rick bass?

Yep, it's a '91 4003S, not a reissue of anything but a real nice looking bass at a good BIN.

Great deal Karl! Do you plan on getting a horseshoe for her? Good luck if you do, I've been searching for a year now with no luck. It would seem the horseshoe and the 4004Cii suffer the same affliction, none are being produced (unless your a C64 or Chris Squire).

Yeah, a toaster and a horseshoe will surely make Karl's new baby ultra classy----almost a 4001 C64 FG with the correct headstock!

"Ultra Classy" indeed! I have seen other 4003S's that had the toaster. This one does not.

The "right" headstock "C". It,s beginning to sound like a movie trailer that most here will remember. If you build it...they will come...

I don't know about anyone else, but I'd keep it stock, they sound great the way they are and there aren't a lot of those around. I'd modify the 4003's not the S's

I had actually hit the buy it now button on the computer and someone just beat me to it. That seemed like a very good deal.
