Rolling Stone claims the remastered catalog will begin to show up on ITunes on Valentine's Day, then be released on CD.

Heard something similar on the release date, with the remastered catalog showing up on CD in March or April.

Remastered? The entire catalog? Promise?
Wonder who's involved.

I've heard about this one for a while, everything from including both the mono and stereo mixes per each album ala "The Capitol Years Box Sets", to new 5.1 surround mixes. Which one it will be is anyone's guess right now. I will eagerly welcome a catalog revamp as it's been 20 years ago this month that the Beatles CDs were first released ("Please Please Me", "With The Beatles", "A Hard Days Night", and "Beatles For Sale"). They have been WAY TOO long overdue!

Well, it's Valentine's Day and there are still no beatles on ITunes. I read in next week's Time magazine that it could be by May, or in time for the 40th anniversary of Sgt. pepper in June.

A piece from Fox News
The Beatles songs — all of them — will be offered for downloading soon. That’s what Neil Aspinall, the head of Apple Corps Ltd. and the man who’s protected the Beatles legacy for the last 40 years — told me over the weekend.
“All 13 core albums, the ones originally released on CD in 1987, have been remastered," Aspinall told me. "At some point they will all be released, probably at the same time.”

So this means all CDs will be remastered?
If so, imagine how much the coffers would fill if they were all released at once.
Dang, that might even be enough to pay off Heather Mills.

It scares me that he didn't mention the word "remixed" at all.

Get the feeling the discs are just going to be digitally remastered, but not remixed.

There have been so many false starts on this and many other Beatles projects, that I believe news about a Beatles release when it finally hits the stores.

Good point, however if the words had come from someone other than Neil Aspinall I would take it with a grain of salt about the release. I don't suspect he was making idle fodder. Whether it is remixed or just remastered, well, this part I will believe when I hear it.

So when is "Let It Be" going to be released on DVD??

Bill, from the same article with Aspinall.
But the film “Let It Be” remains in DVD purgatory, Aspinall says. The reason? “The film was so controversial when it first came out. When we got halfway through restoring it, we looked at the outtakes and realized: this stuff is still controversial. It raised a lot of old issues.”

**we looked at the outtakes and realized: this stuff is still controversial.**
Could he be referring to the footage of the jam with Yoko?
Darn I really was hoping this wold have been out years ago already.
