As mentioned briefly in another thread, the Rickenbacker Frying Pan, now has centre stage in the 'Harrods Rocks' exhibition, at the Harrods store in London.

The Frying Pan is nicely cased next to a large banner detailing the story of it's creation. Also on show are several Rickenbackers from the factory museum, including 1969 381, 1971 331LS, 1960 375F, 1959 Capri, 1959 Combo 600 and a 1967 325/1996.

Unfortunately no Basses or 12 string guitars.

The exhibition also has many artist instruments on show, including Johnny Marr's Rickenbacker 330-6 and Pete Bucks Rickenbacker 360-6.

PRS seem the only manufacturer other than Rickenbacker to have provided instruments from there own museum, but there are many Fenders, Gibsons, Gretsch and others to see, many artist owned.

The Born to Rock exhibition 'the life and times of the electric guitar' makes up most of the exhibition, but Harrods have added several other events to go with it during the next month or so.

I have several pic's but can't get them to load at a decent size, so if anyone can help let me know.

Whew.... the title of this thread gave me a funny mental picture of a big frying pan dropping out of the sky in London.... And I'm glad nobody is hitting other Rics with a frying pan...! Image

Sorry.... it's been a long day so far! Image
