Midnight blue

Has anyone recently aquired a midnight blue Rickenbacker? If you have and it's not too much trouble, could you post a photo as I'm interested in seeing what the current midnight blue looks like. I have a midnight blue 350v63 on order and it should arrive later this year. Thanks.

Glad to hear that. I like all the variations I've seen but just wanted to get an idea of how it looks with the current formula.

The current formula is the best of the variations I've seen. It's very deep (not in chroma, but in dimension) with a lot of translucency before your eye stops at the pearl flakes. Shimmery is a good word. And it's not too purple, tending almost toward cerulean.
i've noticed this same quality in the new 75th Dark Cherry Metallic color--rich, deep, and shimmery.
I want to credit Eric Behring for at least a part of this new paint appeal. Although I'm not sure about the amount of work he's done on the actual formulation, I've seen some of his test panels and color ideas, and they all have one thing in common--dimension and depth. Look for more cool stuff in the future.

Wow..To recieve kudos like that from someone of your caliber and talent level Paul,is both humbling and motivating,and I thank you for that,not to mention the advice and guidance you've given me..
I've always had an eye for out of the ordinary types of color schemes,and I truly believe I've found my "niche" to make some of that come to fruition..It's not always a bed of roses,and not every experiment is successful,but in the end,it's certainly rewarding when it all goes right.
Make no mistake,you're probably never going to see a Rickenbacker with some outrageous or ridiculous color scheme,but you most certainly are going to see them with unique and classy finishes befitting instruments with the history and quality Ricks are associated with.

OK, let's not pump this guy up too much, sheesh. I do agree though, the new midnight blue is much more attractive than previous versions I have seen. Great job !
