I've never posted in this section of the Forum before but figured ya'll might be interested. The Fab Faux will be on David Letterman tonight (2/9) and Will Lee has been known to pull out a Ric on occasion. From what I hear they are a fantastic Beatles cover band.

They are amazing... note for note perfect. These guys are the cream of the NY session musician crop, and they do this for fun, in their spare time. As far as I know, there isn't a single Beatles song that they don't cover... and that's including Revolution #9! They've got quite a following in the NY area, needless to say.

I believe their appearance is in honor of the anniversary of The Beatles first Ed Sullivan appearance. The Letterman show is in the ES theater.

That's cool. I have tickets to see them in Easton, PA this summer. They're doing the Rubber Soul album one night, and Revolver the next.

Looks like you'll see a Rick. This picture is from the rehearsal for tonight's broadcast:

Brian, thanks for the heads up! I thought you may have drank the koolade when I saw your name here.

Mark, thank you for the great photo. I've often wondered why Will Lee hasen't been snatched up by some "big" band. Then I saw the hat!

Seems a real talent.

I really look forward to watching this. I've never really considered Beatles cover bands, but last week when I was shown Yellow Matter Custard's version of "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" on YouTube I realized what a cool thing this could be, when they don't try to LOOK like the Beatles. Sounds like the Fab Faux are the best of the lot.

Tell that to Billy Preston.

Do studio musicians count? OK then I guess we can call Eric Clapton a Beatle, too. (While My Guitar Gently Weeps)

It was a great performance (I am the Walrus), but I think they could've let them play three songs during all the commercials in the last ten minutes of the show...

It was interesting to see Will Lee's picking style, nearly all upstrokes, similar to Ricknroma's (Francesco Fai) style on his YouTube video playalongs.

Also, note Lee's bass was a white with black binding, but white-bound neck. I'm pretty sure that was on the 4001, not 4003(?).

As I watched him play like that he seemed very awkward. It was as though he had never used a pick before. He appeared to have to look at what he was trying to do.

Cool bass & hat.

Smoking drummer.
