This guy sold the same bass with two different model numbers one right after the other. Is rick scamming on ebay the thing to do now?

There's gonna be two very unhappy people if this is a scam. At first I thought it was a double post (honest mistake?). But two different serial #'s is very suspicious!

By the way, speaking of scams, RIC really needs to do something about the nameplates (TRC's) on e-bay. It would seem that RIC's policy of turning in a nameplate for exchange (and cash???) is a big failure! I have seen 3 TRC's recentley, all ridiculously priced. We as consumers are the ones really getting hurt by this. I'm sure that not all of these are going on copies, and the honest people who really need a TRC for a real RIC are paying outrageous prices in order to obtain one. Hey RIC, stop the insanity already. If you really want to do something constructive, buy all the copies out there and DESTROY them. The world will be a much better place. ;~)

TRC's become available for various reasons. We can't tell people what to do with them anymore than we can with an old pickup.
I've seen people selling copies with The Rick TRC. No one tried to pass it off as original though.I do think it's wrong they put the cover on there.

If the cover is genuine, then it's legal to buy and sell it. If it's a fake, or if a genuine cover is attached to a fake instrument for sale, then RIC can take action.

That is very strange, and is definitely the same bass, because the bass has the same serial numbers.

Well, each auction ended with two different "Buy It Now" winners!

Uh-oh! Look down at the "Help ID This Bass" thread. Same bass.

Well, "kesagape" was the winner of one of those auctions, and he (Karl E. Sanders) was the originator of the "Help ID this bass" thread. Maybe he can shed some light on the happenings here?
