I own one; paid $235.00 here in USA. Good price. Built like a tank (72 pounds) and so far reliable, with lots of power and good sound and features.
Behringers are a love/hate brand, it seems. I'm cool with them.
Go for it!

"so the sound is ok with a 4001/4003"
As long as it is a DCM finish, yes!

I've played both my 4001 and 4003DCM through it, and it has a very big sound for a compact SS combo. Also my Hofner Icon and my two 12-string basses. But I'm a bass newbie. Others should weigh in on this, as well.
Of course, nothing compares with an SVT or eight...

Behringers are "OK"; I have a BX3000T which is the amp head equivalent of what you're looking at probably.
It's a decent sounding amp that has some interesting/useful features (octave divider built-in, effects loop, XLR out, line out) and a fair amount of flexibility but ultimately it is a fairly cheap-o solution.
If you just need something to plug your bass into it's fine but if you are seeking out a tone monster this ain't it.
I've used mine with my '77 4001 and my '85/'05 4003 and it was fine and up to the task at hand but again it's nothing special.
I ran a compressor with this amp when i used it regularly; it gets burpy otherwise.

Mine isn't too burpy, Al, but I've caught it farting when it thought there was nobody else in the room...

If it's farting it has ingested too much 500Hz .

My experience with Behringer has not been good. We bought a Behringer mixer for our school's PA. Within weeks faders were failing. A friend of mine was actually playing an acoustic gig and halfway through the third song we heard a loud POP! in the PA and smelled something burned. As they turned to check what happened, the mixer actually burst into flames. I have heard others say good stuff about Behringer, too. I guess if it survives the 3 months AFTER the warranty expires it should be ok.

I don't know Behringer bassamps, but I had other stuff of them in my studio. It is not bad, but it ain't good either. It does it's job and thats it. I have to say I sold everything Behringer out of my studio. I would look for a better brand second hand. There must be much too find on ebay etc. But that's just my two cents......
