looks like some sort of Fender Jazz PUP. If the price stays at 500 UKP I might just go for it and spend a while fixing her up. I would have thought a refin would be in order.
FWIW there was a BIN on this bass of 600 UKP about a week ago that someone hit on. Don't know what happened, but I think some alarm bells should be rung.

Donny, maybe it's just the buyer trying to make a quick buck, but I saw this before the BIN was hit and had it been 500 it would have been me, but at 600 there was just too much work to be done IMHO.

I e-mailed the seller, the bass is all original except for the treble pickup, which he did not say what it was.

I remember a jazzbass copy back in the '70s branded with 'Gherson', who may have been Italian, and that looks like one of their pickups.
