Hi, I'm new to the Rickenbacker forum. I've been playing bass since 1978. Here is a pic of my Ric 4003S.

That's not an Ibanez copy of a ric. The case belongs to another bass.

Wow, nice 4003s. That would compliment my 4000 very nicely. Welcome to the club, John.

Welcome John and a very nice bass you have there. A set of vintage knobs would go great with that baby!

cheers!

Welcome and yes that is a nice looking bass, there is something classy about the S model basses. I passed up a few because they weren't stereo years ago, oh well.

This sure can. Maybe it's a good thing I have a 4003s, this way it could be said "it's Winters with the s".

Welcome John, real nice rick you got there. The 'S' series is my personal favorite, wish they'd bring 'em back. I'm sure you'll enjoy the vast information that is shared here.

I just wanted to add that this is a real cool group. Every other internet posting group I've joined attacks and intimidates new members who don't go with the flow.

You guys here are real accepting. Very cool forum to post.

Welcome John.
I second Andy's motion that a set of vintage knobs would go great with that baby. How about a toaster to make her super classy?

Yeah Marc (welcome aboard too, Marc) is right on... we've got very cool people in this Forum.

Hello, I'm also new to the forum. I've got a 4003MG with toaster pickup, and am enjoying it immensely. I grew up a huge fan of Yes, and picked my baby up from Ebay. Does anyone know if 4003's made 2 years ago have a nitro cellulose finish? I've read that these finishes can be harmed by the rubber on some guitar stands. I use an On-Stage stand from Guitar Center.

No nitro on Ricks, unless they are from mid 50s.
