New Rush out May 1st and summer tour!!! The very short sound clip where the guitar comes in at the end sounds VERY Hemispheres to me.

Yeah, I saw/heard this. I can't wait! Hopefully they'll hit Atlanta or Jacksonville . . . the clip sounded to me like a cross between 2112, Hemispheres, and Vapor Trails . . . which of course means pure awesomeness.

Hopefully the sound on the new CD wont be mastered at such saturated volume levels that it makes the album unlistenable like the last one. Weren't they supposed to remaster that CD and re-release it?

I think they have remastered it, and it just hasn't been released yet, because the original release coincided with the release of Replay X3 or whatever. I want to hear the good version of Vapor Trails . . . the music itself is so good, the quality of sound should be too!

+1 on that! I love Driven.
Can't wait for the new album, too.

Ooohhh! Two notes! I'm not impressed with the length of the clip. It may sound Hemispheres, but that maybe a trick and it might totally suck. It could be as bland and boring as Roll The Bones or Test For Echo. But I am looking forward to it. I hope it's better than Vapor Trails, and I do I like Vapor Trails. It's almost metal.
If the clip is any indication this album will sound great.

Test For Echo wasn't all bland . . . there were some gems on there, amongst all the boring stuff . . . "Test For Echo", "Driven", "Virtuality", "Totem", "Resist" . . . they could really pull down the house if they played "Virtuality" live . . . nice and heavy.
Personally, I would count "Vapor Trails" as metal. I've heard far less heavy stuff get classified as metal, so I have problem with saying that it is. After all, Rush did help create metal . . . without them, no Metallica, no Megadeth, etc.

Ok, you got me. T4E has great songs. I just rarely listen to it. It may be good, I just have to have something a little more active on. They're great songs, but it just sounds like the guys are "going through the motions" and not putting any feeling into it.
They did play Virtuality on the T4E tour.

Really? Why wasn't it on "Different Stages" I wonder . . . it's a great song.

Just listened to a live version today (from a show that features in Different Stages) and the sampled backing vocals seem to be mis-triggered at the end. The same mistake seems to happen in a slightly different way on the recording of a rehearsal for this tour. Nevertheless, I would have thought that the error could have been 'fixed' in the mix.

I think that a Rickenbacker 4003 would liven things up a bit!!! LOL!
