Robert DeLeo, former bassist of Stone Temple Pilots, now in the band called Army Of Anyone. I always thought I'd heard a 4001 on several STP songs, usually a non clanky 4001 tone. I recently read about Robert using a '76 4001 on several STP recordings in the March 2007 issue of Bass Guitar magazine. I guess he didn't use the 4001 for any Army Of Anyone recording so far, but he uses it in this video. I've always liked Robert's bass playing.

I always thought he was a P-bass man. I was never a big fan of them but I liked his bassline on "Plush", which I did with a band I was in once upon a time.

I've always liked his playing as well. He does seem primarity to be a P-bass guy (I believe he has a signature P-bass by Schecter), but that's cool that he used a Rick for some of the STP recordings.
