First gig with the Shadow

I finally got to gig with the Shadow this weekend(I left right after I bought it), there's something about the mid 80's pickups, they sound huge. Anyway it was pretty cool to see the young "ibanez" guys trying to figure out just exactly what it was and why their basses didn't sound like "that".
Bottom line: The bass gets to stay.

You mean to say that the "Ibanez" guys can't figure out to become "Rickenbacker" guys???
All they have to do is buy a Rickenbacker. Hmmmmm. Hard to figure out, isn't it? LOL!!!
It's like trying to figure why a Yugo isn't NASCAR material...........

all the soapbar humbuckers and active electronics modules and 9 volt batteries in the world cannot reproduce that wonderful single coil Ric growl

...nor all the mid-sweep controls, exotic woods and 35"-36" scales.
It's all about substance. You can't boost it with an active preamp if it ain't there in the first place.
