Hey Paul, did you hear da Mayor was easily re-elected again, despite another good round of scandals? If he lives long enough he'll now have served more years than his Dad.

Yes, I did. It's the Chicago conservatism, coupled with that Chicago malaise...
Mike Royko suggested that Chicago's motto, "Urbs in Horto" (city in a garden) be replaced by "Ubi Est Mea?" (Where's mine?)...

A friend of mine there commented on how da Mayor sailed in again despite a rash of recent indictments. I told him it just reminded me of the article I read a long time back about how most modern big city politicos consider Chgo to be the place where corruption is legal (ala Fast Eddie Burke and his henchmen, who want to reform everything in the city but its politics.) I think the "where's mine" quote is in Boss? A book for the ages.
