Pickup question

I tried to find a pre existing thread to ask this question, but nothing seemed to fit. My question is, is there any difference between the neck and bridge pickups on modern 4003's? Like are they interchangeable or not?

No, to my information there is no difference in the PUs of the modern 4003, except the mounting.
But I can only write about the series until 2006, then the design of the pole pieces changed a bit. Could be a difference was introduced, but I guess not.

The pickups use the same basic bobbin but the magnet of the treble pickup is much larger. Also, the pole pieces, at least on the older pickups, are not spaced the same. The poles of the neck pickup are a bit closer together because of the way the strings converge toward the nut.

Ted, my Nov. 2004 high gains were that way also. Nail-head pole pieces.
