Kenny or John, would you be so kind as to tell us about the models used on Stop Start Again? I listen to this CD a lot at work and have been curious about that for months. Thanks! J

John has said before that his Shadow was the bass used on some of the CD.

Hautewerk....Good stuff!

You can find the CD on the official Rickenbacker site; it's some really cool music by John Hall, Kenny Howes, and company. I bought my copy at the 75th, and it still gets lots of play while I'm working at my computer!

This is odd; I answered this post last night. I wonder where it went?

On Stop Start Again, Kenny plays a Bosendorfer Model 290 Imperial grand piano, a 660/12 guitar for the "accents", and a 330/12 as a slide guitar. (Actually, it was the Monty Brown prototype for the through head.) I think there's an acoustic guitar track as well but I'll have to refer to the raw tracks or ask Kenny to be sure.

I'm playing my then favorite Jetglo not-a-Shadow bass. (I have a new favorite . . .)

Dougie is playing a hybrid drum kit designed to get a particular sound; some Yamaha Maple drums, DW kick, and both Zildjian and Paiste cymbals.

There are some preview tracks you can listen to at www.hautewerk.com.

That sample blew me away, I had no idea. Makes me wonder what else I've been missing in this way bigger than I could have imagined Ric world.

Last year's 75th annie - go to the Conferences and Confluence forum and read about it at the bottom threads - half have already gone to archive so it won't be much longer and those left will also.

Thanks guys!

There are indeed Ric acoustics on the choruses; I double-tracked the part on Mrs. Hall's 700/12 FG, one track using the piezo pickup and the other miked.

I think the only six-string used was a 250 MG.

Yes, Jaymi, there should.

You'll probably see a doubleneck 4005 reissh before that happens, though.

(NO, there's not going to be a 4005 reissue. Sheesh.)
