"the calling for a Rickenbacker 4001 is what I'm preferring at this point (...) The color I prefer is white"
So he's not very realistic, at least he has good taste

. I hope he finds a white 4001 and joins this forum.

I was gonna offer advice about rollerskating in buffalo herds but, nah!

Honestly, I might be tempted at certain points as I really am not that into my 75 4001 anymore. At least a P would be a valid back up to my Laredo (better than my fretless J).
At this point, however, I've been convinced to just forget I own the 4001 until 1) I "re-discover" it, or 2) the value of a burgundy 1975 4001 in very good condition makes me an offer I can't refuse.
IF (and a very big IF) I were to entertain an offer like that, the P bass would have to be accompanied by at least $500...

Yeah, his average F*nD*r Pee bass for what he describes would be a 4001 made before '75 and white...right!
I love how the light beams from the head of that bass!

Like I said, with $500 or $600 I'd be willing to part with my 75 4001 for a 98 or 99 P. But a late model American P used is not worth more than $700, and I feel my 75 4001 is worth at least $1200.
The guy does say he can expect to add some cash to the trade...

Charly -
"You can't rollerskate in a buffalo herd,
But you can be happy if you've a mind to."
[MUCH apologies to Mr. Miller]
