Yes, this is his second attempt. The problem is that eBay does not do anything about it. I email them and gave them exact auction number and they replied that it was not in the database. I will email them again with the seller's ID this time.
The seller states that he takes PayPal, but when you contact him, he wants you to send him money by Western Union.

Sure is a lot of high jacking of legitimate accounts going on these days.

Come on guys, do you really think that:
1) ebay can identify scams without any help from the original source?
2) ebay would stop this auctions before they get listed? The listing fee is a profit for ebay, specially when the staring prize is higher than 1$.
"Where there is no accusation, there is o need for a judge" and the business flourishes as well!
Sorry to realize, but what "ethics" do you expect?

Well put Peter. One of the undesirable side effects of the online world is that it is relatively easy to misrepresent the facts. While our community is getting larger our knowledge of others is often very limited. It can be a very long wait when we are expecting a parcel from Anon.

I received an e-mail this week asking me a question about my current sale. The sender told me he had seen my bass for sale somewhere else and provided a link to it. On clicking the link I was redirected to sign in to eBay and realised that it was an attempt to hijack my info.

I reported it immediately, but would imagine that this is where a lot of hijacking is coming from.

I just sent the "seller" a question requesting another picture (unlikely); because the auction insists that you use some other form for questions, this may alert the true holder of the account that it has been hijacked.

Dear Rick Forum,

I've just joined. I've been reading your forum for years and really appreciate the knowledge and insight that you have given me into the world of the Rickenbacker bass. I've assembled quite a collection, due to references found on your forum. You people are really on it. I've been hesitant to join because I don't have the knowledge to enter meaningful posts that will help the forum, but when I saw this listing, I felt I had to join in. I own this Chris Squire Bass. I'm holding it in my hands as I type this post. I purchased it off Ebay in Feb from an outlet broker in Colorado. The scammer has used the same pictures and details of the product in his posting. Just want to let you know, that as usual, you boys are right on it. Keep up the good work. I spread the word of this forum to all the interested parties I meet on my travels across our great planet. I'm in search of a BlackStar to complete my collection, so any help will be appreciated. When you guys post pictures of your Rick collections and actual shots of you playing the basses on gigs, it's a real treat. How many of us use to gaze at the booklet from the original Fragile, Yes Album, with Chris surround by his basses in his room in England and wish that we were him. I commend your forum and I'm glad that it and Rickenbacker basses are a part of my life.

Given the bold-print e-mail address in the sidebar box in the auction, this does look like the same Eastern Eurpoean guy who has been posting thousands of these 24-hour quickies each week. He's giving Ebay fits.

There was a thread about this somewhere here last week...

Crazy talk!

Welcome Robert. You dont even have to own a Rick to be a part of this forum.

Please jump in and take part, if you only need a Blackstar to complete your collection,,it must be awsome!

We love pics.

Heck, I don't think I've made one meaningful post.
