Why is the 325c so expensive?

I just don't get, why the 325c's are so expensive and as I'm living in Germany, the list-price for a 325c58 is 4.355 EUR (about the same in US$)!!!

I simply can't afford that lot of money to satisfy my personal beatlemania.

BTW, I'm not the kind of guy who plays those $99 Johnson-Strats, (I've got a 330 Red BT, a 620/12 MG and purchased a used 320 JG today), but if they are already doing those 325, why can't they do them as a standart model or make all colors be possible like on the old v-sereies.
I'd really prefer a 325c58 in turqoise (exept for the Kauffman, which is, I think, rubbish).

Florian, I really like your quote as I am in the same boat.

Trying to emulate the look and sound of The Beatles is an expensive proposition to be sure. The good news is that you can modify your 320 Jetglo to look and sound like Lennon's. Don't forget to save a few dollars for an AC-30 as well.

Hey Flo; how do you like the 3/4 scale, compared to your standard scale of the 330 and 620? I really wouldn't sell my 320, but I have to replace the engine in my 74 Corvette. I think I'll aim for a 325C58MG in about a year. Good luck with your new Ric...and Rock ON!!!! AL A.

I hope I do like the 3/4 scale, as the 320 isn't delivered yet, but I played a 325c58 at a local dealer (wow, a ric dealer in Germany!) and I really liked it, because for me as a rhythm-player, I hadn't to move my fingers. But at the moment, my 330 does everything for me (I've got a borrowed Strat and an Epiphone The Dot, too).

BTW, are there any golden pickguards made, because everyone lists the white and black ones, but in RIC's list, there are golden ones.

I'll keep you on information with customizing the 320, first a Bigsby B5.

Flo; talk to Don Adamek; "Rick12Dr" he's the ONLY one to do your Gold guards!!!! He's done several jobs for me and I can't praise him enough!!! I think the B-5 is a good start; however, I personally like the Ric Accent Vibrato. You know, John Lennon couln't be wrong! Peace...AL

I think, I'll rewire the controls, like it's postet lots of times before, but I don't get, what this .0047mF capatiator does.

Flo, the .0047 cap basically filters out the bass from that pickup. If you do the mod, you will basically have a guitar that can etch glass. :-)

And to think that Country Western players in the late 50's and 60's gave up their Rics in favor of the Telecaster...I prefer the more balanced tone of the Ric bridge p.u. to the Tele-glass-powdering-exterminator!!! Long live the .0047cap!

Definitely contact Don. Not only a pleasure to do business with, but does top quality (EXACT Repro!) as well. His prices are not atmospheric, either!

Should I add a Bigsby B5 or an Accent to my 320?
Here's the picture of it:Image

Rick Lover: I would add a Bigsy B5 on this instrument first, and then toasters. Finally, I would rewire the middle pickup so that its volume could be controlled using the fifth knob.

One last question:
Will the 320 fit into his case anymore when I have installed the Bigsby?
