I was reading about the last concert, it said that when they finished the last song that they turned around and took a group picture because they knew that it was there last concert. Has anyone ever seen this picture ? Or is it not true ?

I'm not sure if they knew that was the last show. When Paul came to San Francisco in 1989 he was asked if the concert at Candlestick held any special memories. He said that it didn't and he didn't really remember anything in particular about the gig.

Wasn't there a story in one of the recent books about that last concert, that they knew this was it and someone had Mal or Neil or one of the entourage record it on a portable tape recorder? Just to have a record of the event, or something like that.

I'm on the road this week, so can't check my usual sources, but that story is ringing a bell somewhere.

Good question Hozy. If there was a final picture of The Beatles on stage at Candlestick Park I've never seen it. I do remember reading about and seeing photos of George and John with cameras around their necks taking pictures on the way to the stage that last night. From what I've read, they were the two that decided they were fed up with being touring 'puppets'. Can't say I blame them at this point in time. They all took vacations and then met back at Abbey Road and created rock and roll masterpieces, what more could you ask of a rock band?

He should have at least one special memory. Paul got to meet Casady while in Frisco that time.

It was Tony Barrow who recorded it.

OK, here's my stupidity showing. I know Candlestick was the last US concert, but I thought they had some more touring to finish up in Europe? Maybe the last picture is from a different place?

The picure posted by Kent is from an american concert... since they're using those large Superbeatle amps made by Thomas Organ...
I don't know if it makes sense

There are photos of the band while they're headed to the stage. Lennon has a camera in hand and is taking pictures. I think they're in the "Ticket to Ride" book, which is specifically about the last U.S. tour.

Brian, no offense intended.
Many place names are shortened.
People call where I work "the district" and where I live "NOVA."
