No guitarist? No problem.

Last nite at our gig, our guitarist was feeling a bit under the weather as a result of a questionable burrito he had for lunch. Before our last set he felt (and looked) so bad he had to leave. Seeing as it was St. Patty's day, we had a full bar crowd expecting to dance and drink to some more of their favorite classic rock ditties - but we had no electric guitar player.

Solution: Rickenbacker 4003. I cranked the Ric-ness of it up to 11 and filled the room with the best growl I had. With the combination of growl and deep low end, it can almost sound like a full band. Anyone who's seen Clatter can attest to that.

Mission accomplished. Kept them dancing until the donut place next door was baking donuts for their morning crowd. The guitar solo sections were more bass solo, but all worked out well. Even got a wedding gig out of it.

Scott, sometimes a bad situation can turn around into something good with some creative thinking.

They don't play Rics, but they all play basses!
