Any tips for playing "All My Loving" besides just lots of practice? I am impressed with Lennon's play on that song.

A short scale Rickenbacker and a reliance on the first three strings are two tips that make the chord triplets easier to perform.

Interesting song....Lennon hardly moves around on the neck at all on this one, a clear benefit of using the 325.

Lennon really put on a great show, however, my research into his playing style and watching live performances has led me to the conclusion taht he didn't expend more effort that was necessary in his guitar playing. I agree completely Leftybass.

Peter,
Does Lennon play this song only on the first three strings? I'll give it a try.

Jim: Perhaps not exclusively, however, during the verse it sure sounds like it to me.

Peter,
Thanks for the first three strings tip. It is much easier to play once you make that adjustment. I don't have a short scale Ric but it sounds fine on my 381/v69.

I practiced on a Martin D28. When I played it on my RIC it was easier.
Kind of like swinging the on deck circle "donut"
