He says he took it to a repair shop, which kept it for 12 years, cut it into bits and he's selling the bits.

Dumpster diving.....
Y'know, that was quite a fall it must have taken, for this guy's story to be true. It takes a really hard blow to split the glue joints off the body wings AND fracture the neck inside the body wing encapsulation as well as a second fracture at the headstock.
Without the original jackplate at least, there is not much upon which one could base a rebuild. It would not be cost-effective in any case. Since it was MG originally, it should be somewhat better pieces of maple, though. So a crafty beginning luthier could make something of it as a legitimate RIC carcass, if only to learn woodshop technique without violating RIC trademark.
Don't I sound insufferably and unreasonably optimistic at times?

Not even the fretboard is salvagable. Cheez!

I'll bet if they had tried, they could have cut it into a few more pieces!

Geez, they might as well have taped a bunch of firecrackers to it while they were at it.

If the price was right, maybe it would be good for the wings and the fretboard. You never know. IF the price was right. Otherwise you could glue it together and make a lamp. What a bummer for that guy. I'd have an aneurism if that happened to me.
