It was recommended to me to use WD40 to remove sticker 'gunk' from a standard Rick case, Mitch, and it did a great job!

I have no idea whether it would be suitable for use with tolex but I suspect that it would be OK.

Yes WD 40 works however, wash your hands thoroughly and make sure that you don't get any WD 40 on your guitar!

Yep! Worse than chicken grease........... Image

Give the WD40 a couple of minutes before you begin to attack it with a cloth, Mitch. Also, if there's plenty of residue, rotate or change the cloth often. No need to overdo the WD40, either..... just enough to cover the gunk and make sure you wipe the heck out of the case with a clean, dry cloth after it's removed. Any left over WD40 is bound to find its way onto the guitar.

Goo-Gone works pretty well IMHO

I'd prefer Goo-Gone or naphtha (lighter fluid).

Although WD-40 claims not to have any silicone in it, it does have similar polymeric compounds that can contaminate finishes.

Anybody here ever use it or perhaps Armor-All, on a motorcycle seat? Or

I had a masking tape like strip on my case. I just tried rubbing most of it off with my finger. Took a while and my fingers weren't the cleanest ever. It's not completeyl off but I'm not really thst bothered as it's not too noticable from a distance.

I used vegetable oil to remove warning stickers on the visors in my new Jeep. Goo-Gone didn't even make a dent....I've used it before with plenty of success but now I'd try the vegetable oil first. Just let some soak on the residue for a few minutes then rub it with a cloth.

Eucalyptus oil.

That stuff has a million and one uses and some others I haven't even thought about yet.
