The 4-2-5 is gone

It was sold about an hour ago to a nice fellow from Vegas who was as excited as I was to get it! I could not justify keeping it when I only play at church, If I gigged, it would make sense to have both a 4003 and 4 fretted, but , shhh, don't tell, I have a line on one of those Dean upright thingy's.

Edit - Depending on how the Hipshot works out, the 4004 may turn into a 5'er.

Charly ... I have a few of the bridges that I use for converting a 4004 4-2-5 ...

Did you sell to the guy I who wanted to buy one of my 4-2-5 basses?

He didn't ask. He has been around a while, looking at Jeff's work, and noticing the price increases for any used Rick.

Good. It was worth every penny...especially after I lowered the actionImageI've been doing some preliminary design work on the 4001/6 today. I'm not 4-2-6ing anything. This will be major.

LOL, I couldn't play the thing anymore! I showed him my Monty and he said, " You do like it high!" I haven't adjusted the Monty at all, except for you filing the nut, I presume my Chrome d was a little fatter than the Rick d, and that is why it was sitting on top so "pretty"!

I might be moving some of my basses soon too. I'll keep my C64 and V63, and my black Beatle Bass copy. But everything else, including my 4003MB, might just be up for sale soon. I don't play much anymore except at church every other week, so there's no need for me to have six basses lying around. I'm still thinking about it. If I do sell the 4003, I'll give fellow forumites here first shot.

I want my money back. This thing is the biggest piece of junk........

I kid!!!! I love this bass. And no, there was no need to haggle or budge on the price. It was more than fair considering the difficulty in finding new basses and the quality of Jeff's work. And this one's been babied for sure.

So this bass gets around, eh? Not as bad as a hot pink Kramer I once owned. I'd seen it in several music stores locally, clearly making the rounds. One day I needed to rent a bass on quick notice and rented it for laughs. Ended up buying it for a while until it was time for another local music store to take their turn at selling it.

Maybe this 4-2-5 needs a good refinish in hot pink. :-)

It was a pleasure meeting you, Charly, and finally seeing your work, Jeff.

Howdy Bruce! Great seeing you here!

All I had done was hinted that I may want to sell it here on the forum, as I don't need two fretted basses. Jeff fwd'd me the email address and......

The rest is kismet, karma, fate, or some other cosmic event.

And to think I went into the shop that day to look at a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass.

Welcome to the Forum Bruce !!

Now, about this refinishing ....
Maybe this 4-2-5 needs a good refinish in hot pink. :-)

You're in Vegas ... I guess the hot sun has fried your brain ... it's already Fireglo, there's absolutely no need to mess with perfection.
