I went to see this show last Saturday and thought the people on this list may be interested in seeing some photos I took whilst at the theatre in Whitley Bay.
How do I include them here?
I noticed someone included a photo of a Mrs Mills album (but I won't hold that against them), so there must be a way.

Hello, Jim,
you can choose "Upload attachment" function (but pics should be not bigger than 500 x 500 dpi and 34 Kb or so) if you want to post them here.

Thanks Sheena. How's this for starters? Not sure it has worked.

Jim: sorry, tried to answer your email, but for some reason it returned. Image I have this problem with aol.com for quite some time. The simplest solution - you may send your pics to my email, and i'll post them for you.

Jim, the 1st pic was up to requirements, the other two took a little reducing the size. To keep the quality of the pics better, you may try to use this tool (registration is absolutely free and takes only a few minutes), and chose 500 or less in "Max W&H" pixels in "Please specify the dimensions..." field, then save the thumbnail when you receive the link to the optimized picture.
Great pics, BTW. Image

Thanks very much for your help Sheena. I can't understand why it didn't work when I tried to send them.

That's strange, really. I simply clicked the "Upload Attachment" button, chose "Image", then browsed for picture, got the code for the image in the message, and then after i clicked on "Preview/Post Message", the pictures have shown.

Hi Jim,

The two Daves look good for their age. It's been years since I saw either of them. Did Dave Dee do "Hideaway" by chance? What happened to the rest of his band, Dozy, Beeky, Mick and Tich?

Brian

Dozy, Beaky etc still play gigs on their own and Dave Dee joins uo with them for selected gigs /tours. Two members, Tich and Dozy (Ian Amey and Trevor Davis)are the original members still in the band.

Dave Dee does remarkably well because he has had a number of health issues.

However most of the acts, if not all, Jim has sent these great pictures of, will not be known across the water.

None of the acts made any impression on US charts, only Chip Hawkes as lead singer with Tremeloes achieved any success in States,Tremeloes had 2 top 20 hits and 1 top 40 hit in 67 in US.

Dave Berry is best remembered, in UK even, for The Crying Game, a track that has achieved a somewhat of a cult following, as allegedly Jimmy Page played the haunting guitar break, as far as I know that is a myth, he may have played on the session but Big Jim Sullivan, a widely respected session guy in UK, states he played it.

Boy George (argh)covered the song in the 90's but the original still the best.

Susan Maughan is know, even in UK, for only one hit, she covered Marcie Blaine's Bobby's Girl.

Barry Ryan was one half of a brothers act Paul and Barry Ryan, the former probably best known Stateside for writing a song Sinatra covered called I Will Drink The Wine. Barry Ryan again only really noted for one song in UK the, some say, classic Eloise.

Dave Dee etc were pretty successful in UK having 13 top 30 hits, including a number 1, from 65 to 69, but by 65 the British Beat boom in terms of the impact it had on American audiences was really over.

No Dave Dee didn't sing Hideaway on this occasion. I have seen Dave on his own before and with the rest of the gang. Always good.
