I feel stupid asking this question considering I've owned two Ric's over the last four years. i just can't figure out if something is wrong with the wiring on my 330 or if's always been this way and I just haven't really noticed.

First off, with the bass volume turned all the way down and the treble volume up. Should there a difference in tone between the pick up selector in the middle position and in the treble position? (Again, only with the bridge pick up on).

I thought before there was a difference, that it had more treble in the down position, but frankly I can't remember!

Secondly, I've noticed that the blend control seems to affect my tone with only the bass pickup on. I thought it only worked when both pickups were turned up. Am I losing it?

The fifth knob is a second volume control in series with the 'main' volume control for the neck pickup. The difference is that the fifth knob is wired backwards and does not have the third lug grounded out. With the selector switch in the bridge pickup position you will find the fifth knob won't have any affect on the sound. Nor will you with the main bass volume control turned down all the way regardless of the switch position.

Thanks for the reply Jeffrey. I just found my manual and learned that for myself. I guess I hadn't figured out the elusive fifth knob after all!

Okay so how about the pick up selector question. Anyone?

I do not believe that you will be able to hear a difference if both tone controls are at max.

AS far as your pickup selector question, I suppose it depends where your 5th knob is set.
