Have You "Crossed Over"?

Just wondering how many of us have made the pilgrimage to London to "cross over" THE Abbey Road crosswalk.
I made my first trip to London, Liverpool, and a couple of smaller towns the last two weeks in May of this year. It was GREAT to see all these places I've heard about all these years in Beatles' songs!
Anyway, back to the question: Have you "crossed over"?
I crossed over May 20, 2003!

Yeah, a number of times. Been to the U.K. about six different times over the last few years. We have family all over and I have a number of friends up north in Manchester and surrouding areas. The band I'm in just got invited to play Beatle Week next August(2004) so I'll be going back again to Liddypool next year and getting paid to go. Don't normally care to go to the U.K. in August because the whole of Europe is on holiday(vacation) during the month and alot of people flock to London.

Like wise, i've visited Abbey Road and the famous crosswalk a number of times. It's just down the street from the hotel that I always stay at when i'm in London on business.
I've also visited 3 Saville Row, the original home of Apple and where the famous rooftop concert took place in January 69. I have a picture of me standing in the doorway with the street address clearly visible.

Yeah, got a picture of me doing it, early '80's. Chatted with the doorman of the studio, too (it was a weekend) about the fabs, who he had some contact with during his tenure. BTW, an article in this months' Automobile Magazine says that's John's VW Beetle on tne cover of Abbey Road w/the 28 IF license plate. Went to 3 Saville Row, too, and the door at that time was covered in handwritten messages to the fabs in every conceivable language.

I visited 3 Saville Row also. While I was checking things out, my daughter was using the nearby phone booths to call about theater tickets for that night. A few days after returning home, I was watching the "rooftop" footage from the "Anthology" DVD set. I'll bet I saw those same two phone booths at least half a dozen times when they would cut to street footage!

Here's a link to a web cam outside Abbey Road Studios, focused on "The CROSSING"!

That is a COOL link. As you look down the street you'll see the end of Abbey Road, where it merges with Grove End Road, which runs at an angle to Abbey Road. The Studio is off to the right of the webcam and a little behind it as well. Address is #3 Abbey Road.

Made the crossing in 1998. I was stopped by a reporter and camera man from the BBC. I was interviewed right outside. My friend videotaped me being videotaped by the BBC. Pretty Cool. Next we headed off to 7 Cavendish Avenue. Nobody home!

I did in the summer 1994. Had my photo made, too. I also got to take a private tour of Abbey Road Studios, as well. It was all original in there. Just a big white room. What a day.
Funny, I hadn't thought about that in a long time.
