Arthur Lee and Love..my fave...our band is doing the tune Emotions off their first Lp and I think I may spring Message To Pretty on them soon! R.I.P. Arthur...

Love and Arthur Lee are freakin amazing. My Little Red Book is a great song by any group too, whether it be Love, Manfred Mann, or the Standells among others.

Another thing about Arthur Lee and Love was that they were the band that Jim Morrison wanted to be when the Doors started playing Love's stomping ground of the Sunset Strip. Morrison also apparently took some of his stylings from Lee.

So did Hendrix, who was a close friend of Lee's. Listen to "7 and 7 Is" and that will give you a strong idea of where Hendrix went musically a year later in 1967.

Close your eyes and imagine Hendrix singing "7 and 7 is." It sounds like a full on Hendrix tune.
