I have the Blue Cheer studio version (and a few other versions by different bands including the original by Mose Allison)

Wow, that's amazing, they are actually much better than they were way back when and still play loud and rock unlike most of these reunion bands who play like pale shadows of their former selves through little amps.

That's great too, love Bogert, where's his Fender? Love to see these old hard rock bands out there playing again, gives one hope, haha!

Boy these versions are a bit different than what I'm used to (Tuna's).
I, like most others, have had to wrestle with the idea of a middle-class white guy singing the blues. But (so far) I've held the line on singing work camp songs like Parchment, Another Man Done Gone, etc.

Come on now, you middle-class white guys...I hate to be a stickler (well, maybe 'hate' is too strong a word), but I believe what we're discussing here is the song named for the work farm attached to the Mississippi State Penitentiary, which is also known as "Parchman Farm".

Blue Cheer is great, but I gotta vote for the Cactus version of this tune as being the superior one. The drumming is delightfully energetic.
