How can you forget about them? 99.9% of the bands nowadays couldn't have touched them in their heyday, actually that goes for most of the late 60's bands. Those guys played, no BS there.

Great band. Great song. Thought this version was a little off.
Check out their live album, Near The Beginning. I used to play that LP all the time.

I love Vanilla Fudge. SO entertaining to watch!
i'd go so far as to say that their version of "you keep me hanging on" is one of the best cover versions of all time IMO. Putting your own spin and unique style on an already established track, thus making it something different entirely (but still great) is what a cover should be all about I think.
I hate those covers that are merely karaoke, but that's an different topic entirely...

That was 38 years ago. I've been listening to playing a lot of different kinds of music in that time. I always did like their recording "You Keep Me Hangin' On." Whichever the singer was, he certainly was able to communicate the pain of the lyrics in his voice. I admire very much singers who can do that.

I think you missed my meaning Jim, better put: 99.9 % of the bands playing rock today couldn't touch them if they (1969 Vanilla Fudge) were transported to today.

Oh well, since you put it that way....I'd have to agree.
