It's a different guitar. I'm pretty sure that in some of the other pics from that catalog session, there's an f-hole present.

You can see the f-hole if you look close enough. The lighting just isn't particularly good for showing that feature (unless it is some elaborate way of masking the f-hole so that Lennon fans would think they were buying an identical guitar to John's.)

Nick, it's an Ac'cent vibrato unit as far as I can tell.

Those pictures were taken long after Lennon's guitar was presented to him.
I believe these are from '68 or '69, judging by the color reproduction..they seem to be Ektachrome or Kodachrome slides...

Paul is correct....these pics are from the same series as what was used in the 1968 Catalog, and IIRC John Hall has said on one occassion that he was involved in these photo shoots, setting up the gear in some cases...

Damn....full width inlays, 21 frets and toasters...
They just do it for me!

look closer at that 375's tailpiece... it looks like an accent, but hollowed out in the middle...

Setting up the gear? Geez, I took all those photos without anyone to set up my gear for me! Just me and my trusty old Hasselblad 500C.
For those in Orange County, that shot happens to have been taken during the early days of Fashion Island, out in front of what is now Macys.
