Man, blast from the past. We played a couple Spirit songs back then, Nature's Way being one.

We saw them back in the early 70's (Chicago?) and Randy jumped off the stage right out in front of us - did the behind-the-head playing, picked with this teeth (his dentist had to love it), it was great.

Here's something I didn't know.....

First clip –
A million years ago, I used to always keep a tape in the cassette deck. When a song I liked came on the radio, I would run to the deck and record the song.
“Nature’s Way” was one of my favorite songs on all of those tapes.

Second clip –
The Music Scene holds a unique place in American TV history. Instead of the usual half-hour or one hour time lengths, the show was 45 minutes long. It shared its 90-minute time slot with a young people on a deserted island show called The New People. Think of it as a cross between Lost and a hippie version of Lord of the Flies.

Both shows aired only about 16 episodes.

The Music Scene was hosted by comedian David Steinberg and was produced by the same people who created The Smothers Brothers show.
The premise, as I remember, was that each week, the show would host the artist that happened to have the number one song in the country. As luck would have it, for the entire run, the number one song was Sugar Sugar by the non-existent group The Archies. Each week the show tried a different way to present the song and it became sort of a running joke.
