1967 Hofner Violin Bass (needs some work) -- $500

It's on Chicago's craigslist -- I almost snapped it up but it's not a great time to make a purchase. It needs a little bit of work, and it appears that the finish has been stripped, so it's either a fixer-upper or a player's bass, but you don't often see them at this price. That said, it looks pretty nice unfinished, if you ask me.
I don't know the seller, but he was very forthcoming in answering a few questions I had. I don't know if he's willing to ship, but if not, I'm sure one of the many Chicago forumites could help (I'm willing, but I also realize you all don't know me).
