I did see a 360 DCM at MARF with one and was very confused!

I haven't noticed any yet. My 360 DCM has the "fatty" headstock. Image

Kind of hard to see with the dark background, but here's my Anniversary 360 that was at MARF.

You guys bitched so long about the larger headstocks- calling it "paddlehead" and other unflattering names, that when we transitioned CNC machines, we took the opportunity to return to the original smaller size.

YES!! I've got an 81 620 and an 82 325 with the smaller headstocks and I'm glad they're coming back. It proves that bitching sometimes pays off. Thank you Mr. Hall!

Are all models receiving the smaller headstock or just certain models?

Good. I always like the smaller paddle headstocks anyway..(runs for cover)

So....are most of the DCMs the larger or smaller headstocks? :-)

The big 'Gumby' peghead looks good on a 24 fret. But for a 21 fret, the small peghead looks best.

If I must choose only one -give me the smaller, vintage-style.

Thanks John. I am one of those who are glad that you have gone back to the vintage style headstock. Would this be the right time to ask RIC to to go back to the vintage style TRC (as a standard production item) as well? Image The two go together so well IMO.

I seem to remember discussions here regarding the larger headstocks, and that the additional mass provided better tone and greater strength. I think.
