I can't look at this because I am at work, but we used to play a song called "I'm coming back for you" from a band called Elf that had RJ Dio as lead singer. This was back in the early '70s when nobody had heard of Ronnie James Dio, I was in High School at the time. I wonder if anyone knows where those old Elf recordings could be found today. Were they ever reissued on CD?

Yes, the self-titled Elf CD is still available and you cen generally find Trying to Burn the Sun/Carolina Country Ball as a 2-on-1 CD on eBay. It's out of print now.

Many people do not realize that the man who started the "rock fist" out of a superstitious Italian hand gesture, has been around and involved in music for quite a while. I'm a big fan of RJD. I hope he stays involved with music for a long time.
I think he should have gotten a guest spot in Sopranos like David Lee Roth did.

In the early 70's I went to college in Elmira NY and The Elves(pre "Elf")often used to play at our "mixers".I think they called themselves The Elves because they were all about 5 feet tall.

I saw Dio Wednesday night with Black Sabbath at the Great Western Forum. Great show. Such a powerful voice for a hobbit.

To think that the man is a year (or more) older than Jagger @ 65ish (it's really unknown) and still able to belt it out like that is amazing.
I saw the Sabbath show in NYC and he was amazing.

I met him at LAX. I can attest to the fact that he's rather elfin. But nice.
